Mundane Monday

I've finished working on the dining room mirror frame - I love how it's turned out now! The brown spray paint was a bit too light and flat looking, but I brushed some darker brown acrylic paint over it and rubbed it off on the high points and it looks great, if I do say so myself. It just goes with the room so much better than the gold did.

Grant pulled out the rampant ivy in the front and cleared some of the plants. Unfortunately when he removed the ivy we realised it had completely damaged the window frame and the glass was loose at the bottom. The wood was totally rotten there where the ivy had kept it damp and worked its way in with strong little tendrils. He's nailed a batten there temporarily to prevent the glass sliding out and we sighed at the extra expense / work the vestibule will be. It's going to have to wait though.

We're eventually going to clear the whole front "garden" and have tar laid (or pave it) to make a kind of courtyard / parking bay with a bed around the edges. Like when we win the lottery.
