Kitchen progress

We've installed the tongue and groove along the wall behind the hob and I've painted it with 2 coats of paint (still needs a third). Haven't added all the beading yet. Last night I made a little sign to hang above the hob - the wall was white units and white backsplash so I wanted to hang something there. After browsing vintage tin signs and wrought iron trivets on eBay I decided to save the money and make something.

I took the glass out of a picture frame that I had, painted the frame green and sanded it back to the wood for a shabby-chic look, painted the backing board black and wrote "Jen's Bistro" with Making Memories rubons. (Laura always calls my kitchen Jen's Bistro when she's here for lunch because she likes the food I serve.) Laura ... please say thanks to your SIL for the idea. I totally ripped off your menu board!

The shabby chic frame of my Jen's Bistro sign (which isn't this blotchy IRL) ...

... perfectly matches the green ceramic accessories I bought at Sainsbury's a while ago, even down to the scuffed edges:

I also painted a little galvanised bucket that I had - I now store the dishwasher tablets in it.

The oven mitt I bought at Matalan ages ago that started the green-accessories thing (the green looks off in this pic):
