Yesterday Grant had his end-of-training ceremony at police headquarters. The boys and I were all going to go ... and then Noah came out with chicken pox. Thankfully my new friend Zoe was happy to have the boys for a couple of hours while I attended the ceremony. All her kids have had chicken pox. Daniel played nicely all afternoon with her daughters, and Noah spent the whole time on her husband Mark's knee or sleeping on her mom Hilda. We stopped there for supper when we picked the kids up, but didn't stay long as I had an ordering session to go to.
Grant is on leave next week and then the week after that he starts on shift work at the local police station. He just can't wait! I'm sure family life will be interesting as we get used to the random shifts.
