Teacher gift

This is the gift Daniel will be giving his teacher when school closes in a couple of weeks. It's a small canning jar (I think 1 litre?) in which I have layered the following:

Half teaspoon of salt
Half teaspoon of baking powder
40g cocoa powder
140g caster sugar (I used golden caster sugar)
1 packet milk chocolate chips
Half packet plain chocolate chips
225g flour
140g caster sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Half packet plain chocolate chips
Almost a full packet milk chocolate chips, pressing it all in until full

Here you can see the layers nicely:

The tag reads:

Brownies

1 jar brownie mix
125ml sunflower oil
3 eggs
50ml water
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas 4. Lightly grease baking dish such as a lasagna dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, oil, eggs, water and vanilla; mix until well blended. Spoon mixture into baking dish; spread evenly.

Bake about 35 minutes or until firm to the touch and skewer inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool completely in baking dish. Cut into squares and enjoy!

We have made a trial batch of these brownies and they are wicked good! This gift will be accompanied by a letter from Daniel thanking his teacher for helping him to settle into his new school this year and for all she's done to help him learn and have fun at school.
