I labeled them with pinned on sticky notes so that I'd sew them together in the right order. I decided to do the quilt in blocks of 16 or 12 and then sew the big blocks together:

Then on another day I started piecing the blocks together:

A sneak preview - I wanted to see how it would look on my bed (Grant's pillows are missing because he was napping in the guest room):

I also laid out the second quilt - these blocks will have white sashing between them. I did buy white fabric but it's too thin and I need to get some that is thicker so that will have to wait:

The colours on the first quilt are absolutely beautiful. Id love to make something like this but ive never sewed anything in my life. (think big hey) lol - can I ask how you sew together the different sections? I have it in my head how you might do it, but im not 100% sure. It looks soo pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours of the first quilt, lovely bright combo. Wish I had the patience to create a quilt.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) What I like about quilts is it is done in sections - I don't think I have the patience to do it all in one go.
DeleteColors are so bright, fun, festive and YOU! I'm excited to see the finished products :)
