Health news

My blood test results came back and guess what, I have Hashimoto's disease. I'm kind of upset about it. Nobody wants to be told that they have an incurable auto-immune disease.

I felt better after seeing my naturopath. She has it too so she totally understands how it feels and how to treat it. We're continuing with the treatment protocol we were on and I'm hopeful that I'll feel much better in a few months.

  1. Oh Jen, I'm so sorry to read of your diagnosis :( Glad you hear your naturopath is being supportive, hopefully she will work out a combination that will help support you adjust. Sending lots of love and hugs. xxx

  2. My mother had this too. Hers was discovered after she lost a 'huge amount of weight' and they discovered a very large goiter in her neck. They removed the goiter and the thyroid and medicated her . I hope your symptoms decrease over time. Hugs to you

  4. So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Auto-immune diseases are awful and so much to be discovered about them...my hubs was diagnosed two years ago with Crohn's disease and we have seen some ups and downs.

  7. So sorry to read about your diagnosis. On the plus side (if there is one?) at least now you can work with your naturopath to relieve the symptoms. Take care of yourself; will be thinking of you. Jude.x

  11. Sorry to hear this. My DD and I both have 'regular' underactive thyroids and it's a pain... my understanding is though that if you're treated with Levothyroxine or similar you can bounce back quite quickly... hope you're feeling better soon.
