Today I wanted to share with you some of the customisation options that Blurb offers. These aren't the usual custom choices - size, paper weight, front cover, etc - these are special upgrades that you might choose for a particularly precious book, that you might not have realised Blurb offers.
Foil stamping
Did you know that you can have beautiful foil stamping on your cover, in gold (shiny and dull), silver, black, or white as standard options, and other colours as special order? What a beautiful addition to a wedding album or baby book. I think it adds such a touch of class.
Embossing and debossing
Embossing is a raised design; debossing is a sunken design. Blurb offers both embossing and debossing on various products - check with them for details as to which products qualify for this customisation.
Headbands and footbands
These narrow strips of cloth glued to the top and bottom of the book spine add an extra something special, in a wide variety of colours. You're sure to find one to match your project.
Ribbons
Add a beautiful ribbon to use as a bookmark, in gold or a variety of other colours.
Custom end sheets
These are pages in the front and back of the book, immediately after the front cover and before the back cover. For some books solid colored end sheets are available. For others, end sheets can be solid colors or any custom single color or four-color design. Contact Blurb for details as to which products qualify for this customisation.
Bespoke books
What if you have an idea for a book that doesn't quite fit the mould? Maybe you want one a different size, shape, layout or design than the ones offered. Well, Blurb also produces totally custom books, to your own specifications. Come to them with your ideas for a completely bespoke book, and they will make it happen.
