Mismatched

Want to spice up your kitchen and you don't have an island but like the mismatched look? Consider choosing (or painting) wall cabinets that are a different colour or finish to the base cabinets. It can look quite striking. Here are some mismatched kitchens that caught my eye:

  1. I love the second and third photos. But, I don't think I could ever do it. Do you think it's a passing trend? This would be my fear. =/ I don't know why exactly that would bother me..... =)

  2. I love it, and if I could convince my husband to paint our pretty nice oak cabinets whose stain is completely out of date, I think I'd do this

  3. Not sure if it's a passing trend (not that I care about trends in my home - I decorate with what I love!) but if it does start to look dated simply paint the top or base cabinets to match again :o)

  6. I love the kitchen with the blue/grey cupboards! Cottage/country style seems to "speak" to me the most. :o) Becki

  7. I love some of those. I think my kitchen is too small for those to work. I love the one with the white on top and the gray on the bottom.

  8. My friend Allison (aka HalfofVAMH) did this in her kitchen and it looks fantastic. She did black lower cabinets and white uppers. Love it!
