2013 Books - September

Shadows of the Workhouse: The Drama of Life in Postwar London - Jennifer Worth

Quite a few stories were repeated from Call the Midwife, which was disappointing, and very few of the stories shared were actually about the workhouse, which was confusing. Still, I enjoyed it and would recommend.

Still Alice - Lisa Genova

For some reason this book made me feel very anxious; possibly because two of my grandparents had Alzheimer's disease and deep down I worry that I will get it. Still, an interesting book which I would recommend.

The Autumn Bride - Annie Grace

I enjoyed this book and would recommend.

The Devil in Pew Number Seven - Rebecca Nichols Alonzo

One of our book club books for the month. An interesting book which was sad, inspiring and thought-provoking. Would recommend.

Barefoot - Michelle Holman

One of our book club books for the month, it's a follow-on from Bonkers which we read last month. I enjoyed it and would recommend.

Wedding Night - Sophie Kinsella

I mostly enjoyed it and would recommend if you like frivolous chick-lit.

The Captain's Daughter - Leah Fleming

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

 The Elite - Kiera Cass

Book two of a trilogy. I enjoyed it as much as the first and would recommend.
